Republic Acts (R.A.) are statutes passed by the Philippine Congress and approved by the President from 1946 to 1972 and from 1987 onwards.
These laws are regarded as the positive laws of the land, and are representations of the plenary powers of Congress in passing laws, in fulfilling constitutional mandates, and in resolving national and local issues.
