Commonwealth Act

Commonwealth Acts are statutes passed by the National Assembly of the Philippines during the Commonwealth period, from 1935-1946, prior to the invasion of the Japanese in WWII.

A number of these laws are still in effect today, while others have served as fundamental laws which became the foundation for multiple contemporary laws.
