Batas Pambansa

Batas Pambansa (B.P.), or "National Law," are statutes enacted by the Batasang Pambansa, the legislature of the Philippines during the parliamentary period from 1978 to 1986. Passed under the 1973 Constitution, these laws cover a wide range of legislative matters.

This legislative form was distinct to a specific era of Philippine governance and coexisted with executive laws like Presidential Decrees. Many B.P. laws, such as the Bouncing Checks Law (B.P. 22), remain significant and continue to form a vital part of the country's legal framework.
