Anycase.ai Brief #3: The New Billing System (and minor improvements)

By Gio Tiongson

Hey all 👋

Gio here. Sharing some hot updates in line with this April heat.

In case you forgot: Our team is building a legal research and writing tool that’s powered by artificial intelligence (AI). We’re building this AI system with an understanding of Philippine Laws, Jurisprudence, and government rules and regulations (among other things); and that knowledge unlocks new capabilities which we’re making available through the Anycase.ai web application that you use.

This newsletter is for keeping our earliest users - that’s you! - updated with what we’re working on. In most cases, that’s a cool new feature you can use to make your work tasks a bit more pleasant.

Read on for the updates!

🎉 The New Billing System

Upgrading to an Anycase.ai Basic or Pro account just got easier! We’re saying goodbye to our manual, Google Forms-based process with the release of our automated billing system.

Here’s how it works if you’re on a free account:

1. Click “Upgrade” from the Anycase.ai web app

2. Choose your upgrade: Basic or Pro?

3. Complete the payment on the checkout page

Our billing system is powered by Xendit, a 3rd party payments processor.

4. Et voilà! Your account is automatically upgraded after the payment!

That’s it! If you experienced the old upgrade process, you’ll know how much time this saves both you and our team!

Payment options

The billing system supports these payment methods right now:

We don’t have Visa and Mastercard support yet, but please let us know if you want to pay with your debit or credit card in the future.

What if I’m an existing customer?

Nothing changes with your current upgrade or subscription! When it’s time to renew, you can use this billing system to do so more easily. You won’t have to email us anymore, like last time.

Canceling your upgrade

We don’t have a way (i.e. button) to do this from the web app just yet, but we plan to release this in the future along with other account management features. In the meantime, you may reach out to support[at]anycase.ai to cancel your upgrade.

A quick aside.

Just a few years ago it wouldn’t have been feasible for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) startups like ours to build solutions that required recurring payments. It’s awesome how it’s now possible to have subscriptions-based businesses on top of e-wallets.

It goes to show the progress the Philippines has made tech-wise. We’re here for it!

⚙️ Minor improvements and fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented some users from signing up

  • Fixed a bug that made some cases and laws unreadable

  • Released sign up with email + password

  • Minor improvements to our AI model

  • Added a “Generate Answer” button for paid accounts

Best regards 👋

That’s it for Brief #3!
